The battle for Morovia (Calif.) junior defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy has begun.

While still more than a year away from signing his letter of intent, McCarthy is now being seriously recruited by both USC and UCLA. Offered a scholarship by the Bruins two weeks ago, McCarthy was verbally offered a scholarship by USC last weekend.

That scholarship offer came after McCarthy visited USC for the second time this fall.
