Second-year West St. Mary football coach Randall Antoine described two-way lineman Jerald Hawkins as a "hidden gem".

Since the spring Hawkins has lost some of his anonymity with a handful of scholarship offers and a recent commitment to Texas A&M that was thought to have ended his recruiting process.
