In week eight of the high school football season, a number of 2012 Alabama commitments shined under the Friday night lights. Find out how everybody in the 2012 recruiting class performed in this edition of the Week Rewind.
| 2012 ALABAMA COMMITMENTS: WEEK TWO | 1. Ryan Anderson | Linebacker
Daphne
Week Eight: Anderson turned in two sacks and four tackles as Daphne took down rival Fairhope 45-24 on Thursday. Daphne (8-0) travels to McGill-Toolen on Friday with the winner claiming the Class 6A, Region 2 title.
For the season: 49 tackles, 12 TFL, 12.5 sacks, 3 FF.

3. Chris Black | Wide receiver First Coast (Jacksonville) Week Eight: Black caught a 33-yard touchdown pass to help First Coast (6-0) knock off Yulee and stay undefeated. The Buccaneers were trailing at halftime but rallied in the second half to win 36-16. With no game on Friday, Black plans to take his official visit to Alabama this weekend for the Tennessee game. He's scheduled to arrive in Tuscaloosa on Thursday.
For the season: 3 receiving touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, 2 punt returns for touchdowns.

4. Amari Cooper | Wide receiver Northwestern (Miami) Week Eight: Cooper had a big game on Friday with eight catches for 169 yards and a touchdown as Northwestern downed Columbus, 40-32. Trailing early in the game, Cooper hauled in an 80-yard touchdown reception to jump start his team. Northwestern (5-1) will play at Belen Jesuit this weekend.
For the season: 26 receptions for 603 yards and 5 touchdowns.

5. Kenyan Drake | Athlete Hillgrove (Powder Springs, Ga.)
Week Eight: Coming off a big win over McEachern the week before, Drake had another impressive performance with 150 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead Hillgrove (7-0) to a 31-6 win over South Cobb. Drake scored on a one-yard run in the first half, and his 52-yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter put the game out of reach. Hillgrove hosts Pebblebrook on Friday.
For the season: 75 rushes for 789 yards, 10 touchdowns, 7 receptions for 175 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 kickoff return touchdown.

| | 6. Casey Gladney | Wide receiver Columbia (Columbia, S.C.) Week Eight: Gladney scored the first three times he touched the ball. He caught a 51-yard touchdown pass, returned a punt 58 yards for a score and added another touchdown reception for 25 yards. He finished with four receptions for 112 yds and two scores and one punt return for 58 yds and TD.
For the season: 39 receptions for 746 yards and 12 touchdowns.

7. Brandon Greene | Offensive lineman
Cedar Grove (Ellenwood, Ga.)
Week Eight: Greene had another solid game, allowing no sacks, but Cedar Grove (5-3) lost in the final minute to Woodward Academy, 27-24. Greene has a bye this weekend and plans to drive over for the Tennessee game on Saturday with his teammate and top 2013 quarterback prospect Johnathan McCrary.

| | 8. Adam Griffith | Kicker Calhoun (Calhoun, Ga.) Week Eight: Griffith was a perfect 3-for-3 on PATs and made 2 of 3 field goals in Calhoun's 43-14 win over Gordon Central. Griffith attempted a 62-yard field goal in the fourth quarter but it came up short and to the right. Calhoun (7-0) hosts Dade County on Friday.
For the season: 8-for-12 FGs; 25-for-25 PATs.

| | 9. Caleb Gulledge | Offensive lineman Prattville Week Eight: Gulledge helped pave the way for 341 rushing yards in Prattville's 34-14 win over Benjamin Russell. Prattville (6-2) hosts Jeff Davis on Friday.

| | 10. Tyler Hayes | Linebacker Thomasville Week Eight: Hayes didn't have to play the whole game as Thomasville defeated W.S. Neal 42-8, but the UA commitment still finished with eight tackles and 99 yards rushing on just six carries. On Friday, Thomasville (8-0) will play Jackson at Legion Field in Birmingham.
For the season: 385 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries, four receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown and 65 tackles, 9 TFL, 3 sacks and a 2 FFs.

| | 13. Alec Morris | Quarterback Allen (Allen, Texas) Week Eight: Morris was back at it again on Friday in Allen's 40-28 win over Plano East. Alabama's quarterback of the future went 17 of 24 for 244 yards and four touchdowns and also ran for another score. Allen (7-0) travels to Marcus this weekend.
For the season: 106 of 168, 1,596 yards, 21 touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns.

| | 14. Darius Philon | Defensive End Vigor (Mobile) Week Eight: Philon had a monster game as Vigor recorded a shutout in a 7-0 win over Spanish Fort. He finished with 12 tackles, including four sacks and one tackle for loss. He also had three hurries. Vigor (6-2) hosts LeFlore on Friday.
For the season: 41 tackles, 8 TFL, 7 sacks, 6 QB hurries, 1 FF, 2 recovered fumble.

Reggie Ragland | Linebacker Bob Jones (Madison) Week Eight: Ragland only played the first half in Bob Jones' 50-7 win over Sparkman, but he still finished with eight tackles in just over a quarter and a half. As usual, the Alabama commitment was always around the ball and in on every play when he was in the game. Bob Jones (8-0) will travel to Decatur on Friday.
For the season: 50 tackles, 13 TFL and 1 receiving touchdown.

| | 16. Geno Smith | Defensive Back St. Pius X (Atlanta) Week Eight: St. Pius X (7-0) stayed unbeaten with a 35-0 win over Druid Hills. Smith had five carries for 50 yards and also recorded six tackles and a quarterback hurry on defense. On Friday, the Golden Lions face one their toughest tests all year with a road game at Grady. Smith plans to visit Tuscaloosa for the Tennessee game on Saturday.
For the season: 33 carries for 410 yards, 5 touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown and 44 tackles, 1 INT, 1 FR.

| | 17. Justin Taylor | Running Back North Atlanta (Atlanta) Season: Taylor's season is done after the running back tore his ACL. Despite the injury Alabama plans to stick by its scholarship to Taylor.
