AUBURN | Nick Marshall may be two years older than Jeremy Johnson, but the Tigers' top candidates at quarterback appear to be equal when it comes to the playbook.
Offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee said Tuesday that the new newcomers have a nearly equal grasp on offensive machinations. He put that idea to the test Tuesday during a practice and short scrimmage inside Jordan-Hare Stadium, which included some situational work designed to see how each player reacts.
Sophomore Jonathan Wallace also was included in the enterprise.
"Right now, it all pretty much looks the same," Lashlee said. "Each one of those three guys probably does things a little bit different, but right now I don't think there's any part of the offense that we could or could not run with either Jeremy or Nick over the other. They could fulfill the same role for us as far as running the offense."
