Changes key at A&M
KANSAS CITY - Reggie McNeal was a name the entire country had become familiar with. McNeal was the quarterback at Texas A&M. Now, McNeal has moved on and it is time for a new name to take over. Fans are excited about the potential of Stephen McGee and the young quarterback has taken the reigns of the team without a hitch.
"He's a tremendous competitor," head coach Dennis Franchione said. "He's a great leader. He's an outstanding person. He's a player that leads our team. He's made a tremendous impact on his style of leadership already at a young age.
"I don't know if I've ever had a red-shirt sophomore kind of take over the leadership that he has. I mean, he's made his impact across the board with our football team."
However, McGee isn't the only major change for Texas A&M. While McGee leads the offense, new defensive coordinator Gary Darnell will look to return the "Wrecking Crew" title to the Aggies' defense by way of his 4-2-5 system.
