The Alabama Crimson Tide is 3-0 after wins against Hawaii, Vanderbilt, and Louisiana-Monroe, but fans are still feel they don't have a good read on this team. So BamaOnLine fielded some questions from our loyal subscribers to ask senior writer and expert Travis Reier, and hopefully provide some more insight to the 2006 Crimson Tide team.
Here is what Travis had to say...
Question from Run_Forest_Run: What is your take on Bama's defensive line thus far? It seems that we don't disrupt the line of scrimmage enough and frequently give the quarterback all day to throw. Do you think this is more a result of the 3-3-5 Kines like to use, or is it a lack of playmakers? Also, I see this being a big problem later in the year when we look to shut down a running attack like Kenny Irons and AU. Your thoughts?
Question from tchuck: Do you think Kines will run much more of the 4-3 vs. the 3-4 and nickel packages we have seen so much of the past few weeks?
Question from tidedoc: We obviously are having difficutly tackling at times and this has been against lesser opponents. What changes in the defensive strategy will be made in order to try to contain an outstanding RB in Darren McFadden who punishes defenses that are poor at tackling?
Question from douglasww: In the Arkansas game last year, their corners did an excellent job of stuffing our receivers at the line of scrimmage and they somewhat gave a blueprint for the remainder of our opponents. Given their success at this last year, do you feel they will come out deploying this tactic again, and are we better equipped/prepared for the same?
Question from ethanm: How are you thinking JPW will handle all that comes with playing on the road in the SEC? Do you see the road environment contributing to more turnovers? Or does JPW seem like the rare kind of qb who may actually perform better in a hostile environment due to his competitive nature?
