Irish trade lay-ups for free throws

IrishIllustrated.com What was Mike Brey doing down the stretch of the Marquette game allowing Dominic James to shoot lay-ups? Brey didn't want the Golden Eagles to nail a couple of three-pointers-they were 12-of-25 for the game. The strategy worked as the Irish-the Big East's leading free-throw shooting team-made their final 11 attempts from the line to seal the 86-83 victory.
