Kevin Love holds court
UCLA freshman sensation Kevin Love was on hand Tuesday and took questions on everything from the Stanford game tonight, including his thoughts on the Lopez twins, going up against 16 year NBA veteran Chris Dudley in practice during high school and of course he was asked about the legendary John Wooden.
What makes the Lopez twins such good shot blockers?
Love: "They have great timing. They play above the rim and are pretty athletic and get to a lot of balls. I don't where their team is rated in block shots in the country, but I would think it has to be up there.
Do you expect that you and Lorenzo Mata-Real will play more together against Stanford?
Love: "I don't know. They are both big boys in there and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute isn't undersized, but he is a little skinnier than Lorenzo is so Lorenzo is going to have to play big minutes on Thursday out there and push them around a little bit and just to prevent them
hopefully I'll be out of foul trouble, but when I need my subs and I need my rest hopefully he (Mata-Real) will come in there great minutes and I don't have any doubts that he will.
How were you able to foul out the Lopez twins up there?
Love: "I would just say I gave them pump fakes and they went for a lot of shot blocks. I tried to play physical with them, get into them. I found myself in the right position where I found rebounds right under the basket and pushed back up through the contact.
"I remember a play where I kind of pumped fake at the free throw line and then I went back down and they didn't expect me pump fake again and then I got Brook (Lopez) to get another foul.
"If we get them in foul trouble that will gives us a little extra for the game and that will really help us out.
