College Park (GA) Banneker High School DB Darrell Simmons says he's fielding weekly phone calls from Cane offensive coordinator Patrick Nix, who recruits his area.

"I talked to him last week and we set up an official visit for the Georgia Tech game," Simmons said. "Coach Nix just tells me that they would love me to be down there to play in their defense, that he loves the way I play."

The Canes are in good shape right now with Simmons.

"Miami's leading right now," he says. "Alabama is No. 2 and Tennessee is No. 3."

He says Alabama is not trailing the Canes by much.
