Redshirt freshman guard Bishop Daniels, who was on an academic leave of absence leading up to finals, has now left UM.
The official release read that Daniels "has left the University of Miami men's basketball program and the University, Coach Jim Larranaga announced Friday afternoon. Daniels, who redshirted his freshman year, averaged 5.0 points, 2.0 steals and 1.0 assists in three games this season."
Daniels redshirted last year after a foot injury.
He arrived at Miami from Raleigh (NC) Word of God High School. He was rated the No. 4 dunker in the 2011 class by Rivals.com. As a senior he averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game en route to a state semifinals appearance and a 23-3 record. He averaged 13 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game as a junior.
Daniels played for the same high school as John Wall, the No. 1 draft pick in 2010 by the Washington Wizards.
