CaneSport's weekly radio and Internet call-in show will air on WQAM from 8-10 p.m. on Tuesday nights beginning September 1 from Miami Prime Grill in North Miami Beach. CaneSport Publisher Gary Ferman will team with former Hurricane great Lamar Thomas on the show, which will be named CaneSport Prime Time and will be webcast at CaneSport.com, WQAM.com and SportscastLive.com. Miami Prime Grill will offer several food and drink specials in conjunction with the show, including CaneSport Steak and Lobster Night featuring a New York Strip steak and lobster tails for $17. CaneSport will also participate in the radio halftime show on the Hurricane Football Network during each Miami Hurricanes home and away game this season. Ferman will take input from fans via Twitter and the CaneSport.com message boards and will team with WQAM's Josh Darrow to analyze the first half on the CaneSport.com Halftime Show. After the WQAM network broadcast concludes following the locker room show, WQAM will air CaneSport.com Hurricane Extra Point, featuring former Hurricane great Darrin Smith, local radio personality Evan Cohen and Ferman. CaneSport Managing Editor Matt Shodell will contribute recruiting reports to the WQAM Pre-game show and the CaneSport Prime Time show. All Hurricane game broadcasts will be co-cast at CaneSport.com, where there will also be an archive of all appearances by Hurricane players and coaches on WQAM talk shows, which include Hurricane Hotline every Thursday night. A Weekly Video Blog with Canes voices Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey Jr. will be co-cast at CaneSport.com. WQAM and CaneSport will also team on other special broadcasts throughout the year. "We are excited about our new affiliation with WQAM," Ferman said. "We hope that we will be a quality supplement to their already stellar coverage as the flagship radio station of the Hurricanes. We hope to combine our insight and resources with the expertise of radio voices Don Bailey Jr. and Joe Zagacki to provide Hurricane fans around the country with even greater perspective and varied opinions on what is evolving with the team that they passionately love." "QAM is thrilled to engage in a long term partnership with CaneSport," Darrow said. "This allows us to marry the strengths of both mediums into one collective source for UM information, on-air, online and in print with CaneSport Magazine. Our hosts, Joe Zagacki and Don Bailey, Jr., know as much about the University of Miami as anybody and no Internet site is more popular and more in-depth with Miami coverage than CaneSport.com. Bringing both together is a no-brainer. We look forward to working with Gary Ferman and the crew at CaneSport.com."
