Leftwich attends Iowa junior day

After running a record breaking 4.31 forty at the U.S. Army Combine this month, Missouri wide receiver Wesley Leftwich is certainly creating some buzz recently. This past weekend, the 6-foot-1, 192-pound Leftwich visited one of the schools showing the most interest as he attended a junior day with the Iowa Hawkeyes on Sunday.

The Class of 2011 prospect, who has an early scholarship offer from Missouri, had a chance to sit down and talk with the Iowa coaching staff about his recruiting. While the Hawkeyes have not yet offered, they remain very interested in the speedy receiver and will stay in close contact.

As a junior, Leftwich caught 17 passes for 376 yards and five touchdowns and added 180 rushing yards and three scores on the ground as well. Along with Iowa and Missouri, he continues to hear from a number of other schools, including Purdue, USC, California, Northwestern, and TCU, among others.

Currently, Leftwich plans to wait and take his official visits during his senior year before making his college decision. Up next in the immediate future is a junior day visit with Missouri on January 30.
