Edwards already an elite DE prospect
Prosper won its first Texas state championship in 2008 by beating Waco La Vega at the now demolished Texas Stadium. As with most Class 3A programs, the seniors played a large role in the Eagle's title but none of them wound up receiving Division I offers except for linebacker Hunter Nix, who signed with UTEP. In fact, the player who may wind up being the biggest prospect of all was just a freshman at the time.
Defensive end Mario Edwards started in that state title game and today he is still nearly two years away from signing a college letter-of-intent. Even so, Prosper head coach Kent Jones will tell you that, even then, he did not have many players like that.
