PSU beginning to push for Stadnik
With 19 offers and counting, Greensboro (N.C.) Western Guilford offensive tackle Brock Stadnik is no stranger to Division I recruiting. Add in the fact that he has a twin brother, Clayton Stadnik, that has six verbal offers and it becomes clear that this family will have a very busy spring and summer.
Brock Stadnik, who measures in at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, is the latest to receive a Penn State spring visit invite, adding that the Nittany Lions have been increasing their interest in the past few weeks.
"I've been getting a lot of mail from Penn State recently," said Stadnik. "I've gotten a junior day invite, a spring practice schedule and all that stuff. I haven't actually been contacted by a coach yet, but I'm sure I will pretty soon, hopefully within the next month.
"I've been hearing from a lot of schools and usually that's the first stage to getting an offer, a lot of mail. Then one of these days they contact me, talk to me and usually end up offering."
With schools like Auburn, Florida, Virginia Tech and South Carolina showing the most interest however, it won't be easy.
"Auburn, the defending national champs, they've been really on to me in a good way. The Gators, Charlie Weiss has been the same. I've talked to all there coaches before and they seem like good people. They say they want me badly because they didn't sign a tackle last year.
"South Carolina and Virginia Tech have done a good job too, they all have done a good job, but right now, those schools are standing out."
So will Stadnik try to check out Happy Valley this spring?
"I'm hoping we can take a visit up there. Me and my dad used to watch Penn State on TV. Just the fans and the atmosphere there looks amazing. The coaching staff, history of the program, it would definitely be a cool place to visit.
"I'll probably take at least six to eight visits before the summer time, some ACC schools, I want to try and make it out to Florida, possibly Auburn, I just don't know yet. Hopefully, we'll also take a trip up north, check out some schools up there."
Brock claims invites to both the U.S. Army All-American game and the Under Armour All-American game. As of now, he is unsure which game he will attend.
Stadnik's twin brother Clayton is listed at 6-foot-2, 255 pounds and plays center for Western Guilford. He currently has offers from East Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Both Stanik's are great students, with Brock posting a 4.3 GPA.
