Glenville DT looking at the Big East

Defensive line has been an important position for Syracuse coaches to look at in the 2012 recruiting class. One of those prospects is coming out of one of the top schools in Ohio and that player is Willie Henry from Cleveland (Oh) Glenville Academic Campus.

Henry, 6-foot-2, 270 pounds did not have an offer from the Orange until he went and competed at one of their summer camps. After that visit both parties were on the same page.

"I think they are a great school, an up and coming school, I like the coaching staff, the weight room, and my position coach," Henry said. "I took a visit in mid-July for a camp and I received my offer after the camp. I spent like three days up there checking out the campus and working out."

On his trip the weight room and campus stuck out, but there was more.

"What really stuck out to me was the most important thing and that was the staff. The staff was great. They treated me good up there and made me feel welcome it felt like it was a home away from home."

Another visit looks to also be in cards when the Ohio product sets up official visits.

"I plan on it, but I have not made anything official. I do plan on making an official visit there."

Tyrone Wheatley is the main recruiting coach for Henry, but he stays in contact with another coach more, but he does keep tabs with all of the Orange staff.

"I talk to Coach Brumbaugh as much as I can. Then I try and talk with the other coaches as much as I can."

Now that he has had his offer for a couple months there are a few items that jump out to Henry when he thinks about the Orange.

"Football, a big city, and a chance to do something. Get an education in a great football town."

If he does in fact decide to pick Syracuse he feels he will be able o bring a lot to their program.

"My athleticism because I can play both defensive tackle and defensive end. I think with my athleticism and how I come off of the ball it makes me dominate on the field."

Has the prospect thought about when he will make his decision?

"I will probably make my decision around December sometime."

Not only has Syracuse offered Henry, but the offered his teammate Alex Pace and they could be a package deal down the line.

"I am actually with Alex right now, we are like twins. We can't really be split apart that is one of my road dogs where ever I go you will see him."
