Standifer looking at SU?

Crete-Monee (Ill.) defensive back Anthony Standifer was a long time commitment to Michigan, but that has changed now. One of the schools that might be looking for the prospect to join them is Syracuse.

"Coach Tyrone Wheatley has been in contact with me."

Is there a chance that Syracuse will be able to take Standifer?

"Coach Wheatley said that since my de-commitment just happened he will talk everything over with the Head Coach and get back to me."

With his status with Syracuse up in the air for the time being will he think about a visit to Syracuse?

"If it came down to it I think I would consider making a visit to Syracuse."

Even though the Orange were one of the first teams to offer the three star prospect he does not know much yet. What he does know is the great relationship that he has with the staff.

"I have not been to Syracuse yet. I know that the coaches I have met so far are great people,"Standifer added. "When I was first getting recruited Syracuse was one of the first schools I talked to. Coach Wheatley has just been real cool with me and telling me how Syracuse is. He told me even if I don't pick Syracuse he wants to help me out. After I did commit he told me congratulations and we have not spoke again until recently."

Other than the relationships with the coaches the Orange have two other items that stick out right now.

"When I think about Syracuse I think about the Carrier Dome. That is an attractive option playing in a dome because I have never played in one or been in one. I also like the chance to help out a secondary that struggled at times."

Other than Syracuse a few other programs are putting themselves back in play for the Illinois product.

"I have talked to Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa about visits as well."

Will a decision come quick from Standifer or will he wait?

"Everything is still up in the air right now as far as when I will make a decision."
