The month of February was certainly a good one for Wyomissing (Pa.) linebacker Alex Anzalone. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect scooped up more than 20 offers, including one from Ohio State. Anzalone was at Ohio State in early February for a junior day and will be making a return trip to Columbus in the near future.

"I'll be at Ohio State the weekend of (March) 31st," said Anzalone. "It's just a weekend that works for my parents and if they are willing to take me there I might as well go."

Anzalone has been getting the full court press from the Ohio State coaching staff over the last month and says he speaks regularly with three members of the staff.

"Coach (Ed) Warinner is the recruiter for my area," he explained. "I talk to coach (Luke) Fickell a lot and also coach Meyer. They're really nice people and they're really interested in me. It's definitely a place that I want to check out for a second time, I'm definitely interested in them."

At this point, Anzalone has not issued any type of narrowed list but he does note that Ohio State is a school that is sitting in solid position.

"They're very high (on the list)," he said. "They have a lot of good things going on there right now and their class is taking off so I'm really interested in them."

Anzalone has spent most of his winter checking out as many college programs as possible and March may be his busiest month yet with three other big visits in addition to the Columbus trip.

"We're going to Michigan this weekend," he explained. "Next weekend I'm going to Florida and taking a couple of days off of school to go down there and then I'm going to Notre Dame for their junior day on the 24th (of March)."

The athletic linebacker prospect commented on each school that he will be visiting over the next three weekends.

On Michigan - "I definitely want to meet all of the coaches. I've been talking to them on facebook a lot and I'm looking forward to getting on campus and seeing what it's like and seeing what it has to offer."

On Notre Dame - "I have not (been there before), they've been contacting me a lot on facebook. I'm really excited to get on campus."

On Florida - "My dad went to medical school down there and I grew up a Gator fan a little bit. It's a great opportunity so I definitely want to check them out, I don't want to pass that up."

With an offer list that spans over the entire nation, Anzalone certainly has plenty of great options to choose from and he's not limiting himself to any specific geographic region.

"Distance isn't a factor for me," he said. "I know that my parents are supportive of me so (distance) isn't really a factor for me."

There is definitely a method to the madness of investing so many hours into visiting schools as Anzalone is hoping to make a decision fairly early in the process.

"I'm actually planning on making a decision before the season," he said. "I don't know if it's going to be before the summer but it's definitely not going to be next February or anything like that."
