DE will reschedule trip to BC

Mark Wilson was planning to attend the Boston College spring game a couple of weeks back but that fell through.

Not to worry. The Hampton (Va.) Phoebus defensive end will be rescheduling that trip to Boston College. He has a lot of interest in the Eagles and he's not going to pass on the chance to visit altogether.

At 6-foot-4 and 217-pounds, Wilson has a lean build for a defensive end but he has plenty of time to pack on weight.

Wilson believes his offer list is going to grow big-time once his grades are updated. He thinks the Eagles will seriously considering offering once they receive that updated information on his academic performance.

"I couldn't make it up there (to the spring game) but I was invited. I tried to make it but a last minute thing came up," Wilson said. "It was over our spring break and my family decided to go out of town.

"Boston College is one of a lot of schools that I'm talking to. As soon as I get this report card I should have four or five more offers just off that. Boston College is just waiting for that report card. I'm keeping a lot of good contact with them. There's one guy up there that I talk to weekly. I can message him weekly and he'll respond, so I like that."

Wilson said BC sends him at least three pieces of mail per day. Mail isn't always the best gauge of a school's interest but when coupled with other things it can be a sign that interest is there.

"I know a little bit about their defense and certain players they've got," he said. "I know the schemes they use and what they like to run.

"I was really hoping to make the spring game but I'll definitely go see them over the summer. They've been after me and I appreciate that. When some schools found out I've got some work to do (academically) I didn't hear from them, but I kept hearing from Boston College."

Illinois, Hampton and Delaware are the three schools that have offered Wilson.
