Smith Thinks He is Being Overlooked

At the beginning of the 2012 season head coach, Bob Stoops and running backs coach, Cale Gundy found out that they would go from having seven running backs to work with to five in less than a month. Jermie Calhoun and Jonathan Miller both decided that they would transfer and play elsewhere. Then in December they found out they were losing another running back when Brandon Williams decided to transfer to Texas A&M to be closer to home.

Gundy immediately went to work knowing that he had to find replacements for all that depth that had been lost. After already gaining a commitment from 2012 four-star running back,Alex Ross, and three-star, Daniel Brooks, Gundy then discovered another back; Midlothian (Ill.) Bremen star David Smith.

The 6-foot-1 and 190-pound prospect at the time held over 20-offers from programs like Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and West Virginia to point out a few.
