Star JUCO WR in Bulldogs backyard
This spring Mississippi State had one of the nation's top junior college wide receivers transfer right in its backyard.
Corey Smith made the move from Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College to East Mississippi Community College in January and will play for the defending national champion Lions next season.
The six-foot, 180-pounder already has 20 scholarship offers from some of the top programs in college football. Akron, Alabama, Ball State, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Washington, West Virginia and Syracuse have all offered.
Smith was once a Tennessee commitment and a former member of the Rivals250.
