Maryland standout enjoys Pitt visit
Leon Kinnard (5' 9" 175) from Loyal Blakefield High School in Baltimore had a very busy weekend, visiting Maryland on Saturday and the University of [tm]Pittsburgh[tm] on Sunday.
After visiting both Pitt and Maryland this past weekend Kinnard will visit Connecticut this coming weekend. He already has an offer from the Huskies. "The UConn coaches said they are not bothered by my height and thought I would be given a chance at quarterback and that they could move me if it did not work out. Virginia was holding also holding a Junior Day this weekend and I could not attend. I have talked to their coaches and they tell me they would hold another one this spring so I plan to attend it."
Mike Farrell from rivals.com wrote about Kinnard after seeing him at Premier Showcase at Rutgers, "Connecticut won't be pleased that Kinnard was so impressive at the Showcase. The Huskies were his lone offer heading into the event but the 5-foot-9, 178-pounder will draw more attention once word-of-mouth begins. Kinnard was one of the better cornerbacks in the one-on-ones and is very smooth turning his hips and changing direction."
