Haskins sitting on two offers
At 6-foot-5 and 204-pounds, wide receiver Sam Haskins is sure to provide college quarterbacks with a big target when he reaches that level. Two schools have already offered -- could more scholarships be on the way?
As a junior Haskins racked up 200 yards receiving with four touchdown catches and those numbers should improve dramatically during his senior season at Dinwiddie, Virginia.
While he doesn't have excellent speed, his long strides and ability to elevate should make him a downfield threat in college.
Minnesota and Delaware have had offers on the table for Haskins for a while now. Are there any other schools pushing hard for him?
"Pretty much everything is the same," Haskins said recently. "I talked to Maryland recently, probably the night before last.
"They've offered my teammate, Bradley Johnson, and they want him to go down for their one-day camp. They want me to go down with him and I most likely will.
"I've been talking to Boise State for a while too. I really like their offense. I haven't had a chance to meet all their coaches but I have met one. They have a really good program."
Who are his favorites at this point?
"Boise State and Minnesota," he said. "I'm supposed to go to Minnesota but I'm not exactly sure when. I might go to Boise State too."
Haskins plans on waiting until after his senior season to make his decision. He said every school he is in contact with is recruiting him to play wide receiver.
