Georgia offers Florida corner

Georgia has made it known that they are looking for top corners in the class of 2009. They have offered some of the best in the country and another talented defensive back out of the Sunshine State picked up an offer from the Dawgs just days ago.

"I got an offer from Georgia in the mail on Friday," said Ricardo Dixon. "They had been sending me a lot of mail, so I kind of expected an offer from them."

"I just did not know when or how I would get it. They had been sending me hand written letters telling me how they want me and how they would like to have me up there. It felt good for it to come in the mail."

The offer from Georgia pushes the 5-foot-11, 168-pound corner out of Hallandale (Fla.) a little closer to 20. He does not know too much about the UGA program, but he likes what he does know.

"I know a little bit," he said, "I know they always have a good defense and their secondary is always strong."

"I watched a couple of their games last year and they hit hard, they play with speed, and they play I like to up there. They also put guys in the league (NFL), so that is great also."

Does this offer push UGA high on his list?

"Not right now because I am not ready name that list yet. I am going to try narrow it down to 8 schools late this week. I am going to think about things and try to narrow it down soon."

Dixon's junior year is about to come to an end, but he does not plan to do too much over the summer on his own.
