Kenney picks up BC offer

By every measure State College (Pa.) State College Area wide receiver Alex Kenney is sitting in a good position right now. The 6-foot, 181-pound junior prospect now holds several offers and the latest is from a school he thinks highly of.

Going into this week Kenney had already received scholarships from Penn State, Stanford and Virginia. On Tuesday he received even more good news.

"Yes, I just got an offer from BC on Tuesday," Kenney confirmed. "They emailed me and said that they had sent me a letter with an offer.

"I actually visited Boston College over the summer and I liked everything about it. I think it's a great program. They have good academics and it just seemed like a good place to play football."

With offers from those four schools now in hand, Kenney is moving forward and hoping to pick up others. That could happen in the near future, as two more members of the Atlantic Coast Conference appear close to extending scholarships.

"I don't know for sure, but North Carolina and Wake Forest said they might be pretty close to offering me," he said. "I've been hearing from some others like Oregon, Michigan, Iowa and Notre Dame, but I"m not sure what will happen.

"I don't have any favorites at this point and I haven't made plans to go to any games yet. I did visit Notre Dame and Virginia over the summer, as well as BC. All those trips went pretty well. It was good to see the facilities and what they're all about."
