Top national defender takes in Aggieland
Shreveport (LA) Evangel defensive end Jermauria Rasco has been known by fans across the country after being a key member of the Eagles' state championship team as a mere freshman. He followed that up with a sophomore campaign that saw him recording 26 sacks, tying the late Reggie White's single-season state record.
It's not surprising then that the 6-foot-4, 244-pound junior has found himself the center of attention from colleges all over the country. Perhaps the top overall prospect in the class of 2011, Rasco has received numerous written offers in the three weeks that schools have been allowed to send them out to juniors.
"I've gotten quite a few," he said. "Tennessee, Colorado, Alabama, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, (Texas) A&M, LSU, Duke and Stanford - that's all off the top of my head. Texas said that, as soon as this year's seniors sign, that they were going to send something out to me. I also have others that I'm missing, I know."
This past weekend, Rasco had a chance to take in one of the schools that has offered when he joined fellow defensive line teammate Brandon Jackson, a Texas A&M commitment, to take in the Aggies win versus Utah State.
