It turns out, all the talk was true.
Both Cole and Brown committed to Mack Brown roughly one hour before the UT spring game began, giving Texas its 14th and 15th pledges for the 2012 class.
"They did commit. It felt like the right fit for them," said Brenham head coach Glenn West. "They visited several schools, visited numerous schools numerous times. They decided this was the right decision for them. They did not rush into anything.
Cole and Brown have been on a whirlwind tour of campuses in the spring, making multiple stops at Texas and Texas A&M, in addition to visits to Oklahoma and TCU last weekend. Following the most recent visits, word began to circulate that Texas has moved into the driver's seat for both players.
"It was kind of a roller coaster for them at times. Different schools were their favorites at different times," West said. "But I think in general, it was simply that they both felt that it was the school that they wanted to go to."
Cole, a 6-2, 212-pound linebacker, is rated No. 14 on the most recent Lone Star Recruiting Top 100. Brown, a 6-2, 280-pound defensive tackle, checks in at No. 4 on the list.
Both players held a number of offers, but had recently narrowed their focus to Texas, Texas A&M, TCU and Oklahoma.
