D'Onofrio pulls out of race for Temple job

UM defensive coordinator Mark D'Onofrio has withdrawn from consideration for the Temple Head Coaching job, sources told CaneSport Friday morning.

That paves the way for an announcement that
New York Giants assistant offensive line coach Matt Rhule, the former offensive coordinator under Al Golden, to likely get the job. Former FIU Coach Mario Cristobal also was under consideration.

A source familiar with the search said Rhule was set to interview with incoming Temple president Neil Theobald Thursday night in Philadelphia. But no official announcement has been made.
