Cane commit opens up his recruitment
There was speculation in recent weeks that Nick Roberts would not stick with his Cane commitment.
On Monday that speculation turned to reality.
Roberts was a holdover Al Golden commitment, initially giving his pledge in August of last year. UM initially offered him a scholarship May 15.
At the time of his commitment he said his goals at UM were to "bring back the real DB U, win a national championship and just make Miami better and the defense better."
But the new UM coaches didn't have a personal talk with him until February, leading to speculation he would pull his pledge.
Last season he had 47 tackles, four interceptions and eight pass breakups.
CaneSport's take
No surprise here. UM coaches weren't making him a major priority despite his commitment.
