Miami Hurricanes made several highlight plays on the first Sunday of the NFL season.
Here is our weekly review of how some former Canes performed.
Tyrique Stevenson
Tyrique Stevenson made his mark on a 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans. "Rique" would register his first career pick-six, proving to be the game-winner for the Chicago Bears.
He would add with two total tackles and two pass break ups.
DeeJay Dallas
Former Cane DeeJay Dallas had perhaps the best highlight of the weekend, returning the first kickoff for a touchdown in the NFL season. Arizona would fall to Buffalo 34-28.
It was the first kickoff returned for a touchdown under the new dynamic kickoff format.
Calais Campbell
Calais Campbell enters his 17th season with the Miami Dolphins in familiar territory. His debut with the team was impressive. He started the day with a sack on the first series and finished with three tackles in a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Greg Rousseau
Greg Rousseau, now entering his fourth season, had a monster day. He racked up three sacks and six total tackles and forced a fumble in a 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Jaelan Phillips
After returning from an Achilles injury, Jaelan Phillips bounced back in a big way with his first game with the Miami Dolphins. He made a critical sack late in the game en route to a 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
David Njoku
David Njoku had a solid outing for the Cleveland Browns in week one, catching four footballs for 44 yards, including a long of 29. He suffered an ankle injury during the 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Rayshawn Jenkins
Rayshawn Jenkins is with a new team this season, playing for the Seattle Seahawks. The former Cane spent his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers and his last three with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In his debut in Seattle, he registered six tackles, helping the Seahawks to a 26-20 win.
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson, now on his fourth team with Carolina, notched seven tackles (six solo) in his season debut. Carolina fell to New Orleans 47-10.
