Commit loses power in Irma, thankful for what he has

Like much of Miami, Camron Davis lost power during Hurricane Irma.

He said Sunday night that he and his family are making the best of things, aided by a generator that he says is “helping us get by.”

“I’m doing okay,” Davis said. “Everything is good. I stayed in town and we didn’t have problems with the house which was good. We have food, water, but there’s a lot of power out around here.”

Davis said he’d like to get back to football to get his mind off the storm and return to some semblance of normalcy. But he says he’s gotten no indication when he might be back at school and says he doesn’t expect to have another football practice for “maybe a couple of weeks.”

Davis says he’s communicated with UM coaches and that “they’re doing okay.”

His message for Cane fans that are worried about him and others in Florida?

"Tell them I'm doing good," Davis said.
