The Gator commitment got a late-night visit on Monday from UM coaches Al Golden, James Coley and Hurlie Brown, and he's set to take an official visit to Miami this weekend - his team plays on Friday night, so he will arrive on Saturday.

Cook will announce his final decision after the state championships are over, and he's a January enrollee.

Cook's family got an in-home visit early Monday evening from the coaches (Dalvin wasn't home yet), and the coaches then returned at 10:30 p.m. to meet with Cook for an hour.

"It went well," Cook told CaneSport. "We talked about everything. They told me how they really needed me over there."

Asked if he has UM under serious consideration, Cook said, "Yeah, a lot. I'm giving them a good look."

He says he has UM, Florida and Florida State as his final three. He reiterated that he's committed to UF.

Asked if the visit helped UM catch up with the Gators, Cook said, "I'm just keeping everything open. But the meeting helped Miami."

How so?

"I got more of a feel with the coaches, how they approach things," Cook said.

Cook says what stuck with him most that coaches said was "when Coach Al said I can be a program-changer. That was very special to hear that."

Cook says Coley's message was "about the offense, how they use freshmen, that they get young guys in games, that I can come down there and play right away."

Cook says Brown, who is his primary recruiter, "just tells me why I should stay home and make the U better, how it used to be.

"He's a great person outside of football. We talk about more than football. He talks to me as person."

Cook says he wouldn't "put any percentages" on how much Florida leads by right now.

And he says teammates and Cane commitments Joseph Yearby and Trevor Darling, who also got Golden visits yesterday "put bugs in my ear."

"Some days I think about staying home," Cook said. "Mostly everyone grew up a Cane."
