Emerging New 7-on-7 Power, RAW, Will Be Key Pipeline for Miami

One of the new kids on the block for the seven-on-seven circuit is RAW Miami.

RAW is putting together one of the more impressive groups in the country, wasting no time as they enter national tournaments with a number of elite prospects.

Tonight they will have their inaugural tryout showcase in Little Haiti, likely putting on a show for South Florida two weeks out from the kickoff of the season.

Quarterbacks

The quarterbacks are notable for RAW. Two of Miami's top targets at the position, Alabama five-star commit Julian Sayin and St. Frances (MD) four-star Michael Van Buren will likely be two of the best regardless of the team this seven-on-seven season rank among the top ten passers in the 2024 class.

Wide Receivers

The talent is abundant at wide receiver and YOUNG. The majority of players coming out at the position will be upcoming sophomores or juniors. At the same time, Miami Central's LaWayne McCoy and Greenville (SC) standout Mazeo Bennett, will be the more veteran players of the group.

Miami offered Bennett and seems to be close to doing just the same with McCoy, who is close with a number of local Miami targets and was one of the top athletes in South Florida this season.

Sophomore Koby Howard was putting on a show for head coach Mario Cristobal and the staff this summer before suffering a broken leg at Legends Camp. He earned an offer fresh out of that camp performance.

Palm Beach native Naeshaun Montgomery has been a frequent visitor to Miami and holds an offer. He was a sophomore standout this season, scoring nine touchdowns for the 11-1 Crusaders.

Four-star 2025 wideout Santonyo Isaac has yet to hear from Miami but was included in the initial Rivals Top 100 for the sophomore class. He holds offers from Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, and more.

Defense

The defense will be full of blue-chip prospects at Friday's showcase. IMG Academy (FL) four-star cornerback Ellis Robinson may be the top target for Miami in the upcoming class. Every top program in the country is after him but he recently dropped his top five and Miami was fortunate enough to be included.

Former IMG safety Jaydan Hardy proved himself among the best defensive backs in the country at OT7 in Las Vegas last June. He makes the move from Miami Immortals to RAW, solidifying a lock-down slot defender for them. He holds 20-plus offers and with Miami searching for safety help, he will likely hear from the Canes sooner than later.

Miami missed out on his brother to Alabama and it could be a similar race for 2025 defensive back Anquon Fegans, who had double-digit interceptions this year. The sophomores are already finding homes and Miami is in hot pursuit of the ninth-best prospect in the class.

Lakeland (FL) safety Brayshon Williams is a teammate of current Miami commit five-star cornerback Cormani McClain and holds an offer of his own. If Miami ends up signing McClain, a pipeline opportunity with Williams, a top 15 safety prospect in 2024, could emerge.

One of the fastest-rising defenders in South Florida is Booker T. Washington defensive back Antonio Branch, who picked up a Miami offer during the year. He played for South Florida Express last season but would be a massive pickup for RAW.
