Indoor Practice Facility getting swanky announcement

The Fontainebleau where the IPF will be announced Friday

The invitations are out. The renderings are done. The presentation is ready to go.

The only thing left is the official public unveiling, which will take place at 5 p.m. Friday at the swanky StripSteak by Michael Mina restaurant inside the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach.

The new football indoor practice facility is about to actually be born.

It is all happening quickly thanks to the Soffer Family, owners of the Fontainebleau, Aventura Mall, Turnberry Resort and other real estate projects throughout South Florida and beyond which will announce it is making the lead gift for the facility which will have a $28-$30 million price tag and a target completion date of April 2018.

Miami has raised approximately $20 million of that total, including a $1 million donation from Coach Mark Richt, and will be hoping to finish the fund raising campaign by the end of the year, maybe even by the completion of the Friday night presentation. Athletic Director Blake James has set the goal of having the building 100% funded before a shovel hits the ground.

At Friday's festivities, James and his staff will lay out the vision of the facility and set the groundwork for additional donations to an audience expected to include several prospective donors.

The University has prepared an elaborate multimedia presentation for the event.

CaneSport.com will provide complete coverage of the unveiling Friday afternoon.
