Local standout's brother plays for Canes, UM in top 3

Ft. Lauderdale (FL) University School 2019 athlete Kenny McIntosh spoke with UM coaches recently.

"I talked to the running backs coach (Thomas Brown), he showed a lot of love, wants to stay in contact with me, gave me his number so we can talk," McIntosh said.

McIntosh's brother is Cane DT RJ McIntosh, and Kenny says "he's always telling me to come to Miami. He's balling out there."

McIntosh says of his Cane status that "They're definitely in my top 5."

He adds that UM, Ohio State and LSU are his top three out of that group, and he has 12 total offers including Miami.

"I plan to make a decision by the end of this year," McIntosh said. "Miami's shown so much love, I'm just trying to look at these other schools to see what they offer. I do also love the LSU coaches, they show me a lot of love also."

McIntosh was in the recruiting section for the FSU game and says of that experience "I thought they came out pretty strong - they just had to know Florida State is a second half team, didn't come out strong enough, weren't executing enough."

He says of the UNC loss that "I saw the highlights. That's a big deal, they needed that win, just came out pretty slow."

McIntosh wants to play running back at the next level, but he also could project as a defensive back or wide receiver.

So far this season he has 12 touchdowns at RB/WR for his 5-2 team.

CaneSport's take

Back in February McIntosh was talking as if he was already part of this Hurricanes' '19 recruiting class, but he wants to do his due diligence just to make sure. We fully expect him to announce for the Canes when the time is right.
