Paradise Camp commitment a possibility for RB

Buford (Ga.) High School Class of 2018 RB Christian Turner will fly down to Miami on Friday with his parents in order to attend Saturday's Paradise Camp at Miami, which will run from 7-9 p.m.

It will include top prospects from around the State of Florida and, obviously, beyond.

"I hadn't visited Miami before, thought this would be a good time since they have a lot going on," Turner said. "There'll be a barbecue, I can meet players and coaches. I think it'll be a fun time."

Turner says coach Thomas Brown talked to him about the camp.

"He just said it's going to be great, that I'll have a chance to meet everyone, meet other recruits and athletes," Turner said.

Turner lists UM among his four offers. His others are from Vanderbilt, NC State and Louisville.

Turner says "I haven't narrowed down schools yet. But I like Miami, that's a good school, I'd like to say they're one of my favorites."

Turner says he's in no rush to make a decision but emphasizes anything is possible.

"It's whenever I feel comfortable with a school," he said. "You never know. I can come down and love the school and decide to commit or I may want to keep my options open.

He says UM is recruiting him "pretty hard. Me and coach Brown stay in contact."

He adds of the Cane program that "I know about the program's history. Even before I was recruited by them I was keeping up with the players they put in the league, and they're fun to watch on TV."

CaneSport's take

Turner visiting with his parents shows just how serious he is about the Canes. A great visit and who knows? Anything can happen. Certainly Saturday night is going to be a chance for these new Cane coaches to make a big splash with top 2018 and 2017 recruits.
