Top 2025 DE Armondo Blount transfers to local powerhouse Miami Central

The South Florida Transfer Portal keeps on coming with huge moves. Dillard 2025 four-star defensive end Armondo Blount makes the transition to Miami-Dade County to play for the four-time reigning Miami Central Rockets next season.

Blount is the fourth-highest-ranked defensive player in the class and the second-highest-ranked strongside defensive end. He is also the highest-ranked player in Florida for the 2025 class.

He slots in as the perfect replacement for Miami signee and record-breaking pass rusher Rueben Bain, who had 77 career sacks in his four years at Central.

The relationship between Miami and the Rockets is strong as ever. Former head coach Roland Smith is the Director of High School Relations and former Central linebacker and coach Sabbath Joseph is a defensive analyst. He is also the brother of current Central head coach Jube Joseph.

Miami also has multiple Central alumni on the roster. Linebacker Wesley Bissanthe was arguably the Canes' best player at the position as a true freshman last season, offensive lineman Laurence Seymore stepped up in a huge way when the injury bug struck Miami's trenches by mid-season and Bain decided to stay home in this class.

He adds to a defense that includes division one prospects at nearly every position, including Miami-offered players like four-star 2024 athlete Earl Kulp, three-star 2024 linebacker Vincent Shavers, 2025 linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin and safety Amari Wallace.

This past season, Blount had 16 sacks and 30 tackles for loss for 7-4 Dillard. He has already reached 37 career sacks, despite playing in a COVID-shortened season as an eighth grader.
