Columbus (FL) vs Miami Central (FL)
The creme de la creme matchup of the week is Friday night. The Greater Miami Athletic Conference featured game between Columbus and Miami Central is a must-see. Both teams come into this game undefeated and pushing up the national ranks. This will be the final regular season test for both squads and it shapes up to be a Miami Hurricanes scouting event with the number of targets playing.
Central features the 2023 blue-chippers in defensive end Rueben Bain and linebacker Stanquan Clark, two players Miami hopes to sign for the 2023 cycle. The amount of Power 5 underclassmen for the Rockets reaches into the double digits, several of which will end up being Miami targets when all is said and done.
Columbus has the pass-rushing trio of five-star TJ Capers, four-star Dylan Stephenson, and the underrated Daylen Russell. Jose Leon, the 2024 wide receiver, recently picked up his first offer from Louisville and could be a Xavier Restrepo-type player to watch in the next class.
American Heritage Plantation (FL) vs Naples (FL)
This is another game Canes fans really need to monitor. American Heritage has the usual 2023 suspects in all-world wide receiver Brandon Inniss, four-star running back Mark Fletcher, Miami legacy cornerback Damari Brown and NC State commit safety Daemon Fagan. Malachi Toney, 2026 wide receiver, and 2025 running back Byron Louis are both young prospects who have already earned Miami offers and should have considerable parts in the game on Friday.
Naples is not a national power but has risen up into the top 30 teams in Florida and sits quietly at 6-1. Their rushing attack led by Arkansas commit Isaiah Augustave and top 15 running back Kendrick Raphael should be the most comparable rushing attack to Fletcher and Louis. Cincy commit cornerback Jonas Duclona will most likely shadow Inniss, giving fans a Power 5 matchup, while safeties Kensley Faustin and Minnesota commit Kerry Brown look to help over the top.
Kennesaw Mountain (GA) vs North Cobb (GA)
Miami center commit Connor Lew is going against a legitimate opponent this week in North Cobb. They are 5-2 but are a top 100 team in the country and feature a high-powered offense loaded with division-one prospects. Arkansas commit quarterback Malachi Singleton and the elite backfield of Michigan commit Benjamin Hall. Top-five 2024 running back David Eziomume has put up over 21 points or more in almost every game this season against a nationally ranked schedule.
Lew's biggest threat on the defensive line will be FCS prospect Dylan Mann. This could be tough for the 6-1 Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs.
Homestead vs Miami Northwestern (FL)
The talent will be prevalent at Traz Powell Stadium in a Thursday night special. Northwestern is coming off a huge win to take the district title against Miami Booker T. Washington while Homestead is trying to revive their season with a signature W.
Louisville commit running back Isaac Brown has been banged up and Homestead will need him and wide receivers Richard Dandridge and 2025 phenom Cortez Mills to perform well if they are going to have a chance in this game.
Future Miami-Dade County all-time passing leader Taron Dickens will be gunning for the record and that means a lot of targets for the elite receiving group of Florida commit Andy Jean, Georgia Southern commit Rashad Davis, three-star tight end Adam Moore and the 6'5" Miami legacy freshman athlete Calvin Russell III.
Miami Palmetto (FL) vs Miami Norland (FL)
The Miami commit twins Robby Washington and Bobby Washington have Palmetto surging with three-straight wins heading into this game. Norland has struggled defensively, so big games from Robby and 2024 four-star Jacory Barney could be on the way.
Norland will have to utilize the big arm of 2025 quarterback Ennio Yapoor and the talents of 2024 wide receiver Isaiah Scott if they want to have a chance in this game.
Pass rushers Jeremiah Marcelin and Willis McGahee IV of the 2024 class, are players to watch in this game as well. Marcelin has already picked up a Miami offer while McGahee is looking to follow in his father's footsteps and land an offer as well.
