Safety Jaden Harris and Center Zach Carpenter answered questions from the media Thursday after spring practice No. 5.

Harris, who converted from nickel to safety when he first arrived in Coral Gables, has gained ten pounds and weighs 196 pounds. Harris shares what he's learned the most from former Miami safeties Kamren Kinchens and James Williams (0:48) and what new defensive backs coach Chevis Jackson brings to practice (1:23).

He also shares his thoughts on true freshman Zaquan Patterson and Dylan Day (2:00) and having defensive coordinator Lance Guidry as the safeties coach (3:23).

Indiana transfer Zach Carpenter explains why he came to Miami (0:24). He describes his relationship with quarterback Cam Ward as one of the 'closest on the team.'

He said that he tries to be 'as calm as possible' on the field, that there is a lot more speed than the Big Ten and Rueben Bain stands out the most.

Carpenter described his play as a 'controlled rage.' He named Markel Bell and Nino Francavilla as young players standing out to him.
