Second-year guard Christian Watson is looking to make an impact in year two for the Miami Hurricanes. He was available to the media Wednesday via zoom press conference and says the team will take the three exhibition games in France very seriously.

Watson also mentioned that the team can be better than last year's final four team. At 6'7" and 209 pounds, Watson can play point guard, shooting guard, and small forward.

"I'm like a big guard, said Watson. "I can shoot, rebound, come off ball screens, get my team involved, so I really can do everything. But I'm a team player first, coaches player, so anything the coaches need me to do, I can do."

The three-star prospect came out of St. Johns College High in Washington D.C. He appeared in 11 games last season, registering 17 points, five rebounds, and one assist. in 37 minutes.

"I didn't let not playing last season discourage me," Watson said. "I took it as a chance to work harder and prepare for next season. This upcoming season, I just feel like I need to show what I can do. Going to France, I need to show the coaches what I can do for the upcoming season. I feel like I've been putting in the work for this upcoming season, so I feel like when the time comes, everyone's going to see what they like, everyone is going to see what I can do."

Watson mentioned that Kyshawn George and FSU transfer Matt Cleveland as players that have stood out to him thus far among the newcomers.

In Paris, Miami will play Parisian Select (a collection of local pros) twice on August 4th and 5th. In Nice, Miami will play a French pro team AC Golfe Juan Vallauris.
