Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Isaiah Horton, senior wide receiver Jacolby George, and Vanderbilt transfer safety Savion Riley answered questions from the media after spring practice No. 8 on Thursday.
First, Horton shares his thoughts on working with new quarterback Cam Ward (0:02) and what stands out to him about his play (0:14).
He also shares what he does in the offseason to improve his craft (0:58). He mentioned he improved his speed by about three seconds.
Horton discusses his battles with cornerback Daryl Porter Jr. and Jadais Richard (1:48). He describes freshman wide receiver JoJo Trader as 'natural' (2:22).
Lastly, he shares what he's learned from George and wide receiver Xavier Restrepo.
George was asked whether he and head coach Mario Cristobal discussed his unsportsmanlike conduct (0:11). He stated that he had to 'gain his trust back.'
He shares how chemistry has developed between himself, and Ward (0:34) explains how wide receivers coach Kevin Beard has helped him develop (1:08).
George also shares thoughts on the younger receivers (1:56) and what makes Ward special (2:16).
Riley shares what Richard, who played with him at Vanderbilt, told him about Miami before deciding on the Hurricanes while in the transfer portal (0:12). He talks about what defensive coordinator Lance Guidry wants in his safeties (1:09). He described Guidry as 'funny but the right type of serious.'
Next, he discusses the importance of communication on the back end (2:11), the battles he's experiencing against the receivers and Ward in practice (2:35), and how he fits into the defensive system (3:09).
Riley shared that Georgia and LSU were other schools that he considered transferring to, and he said, 'I'm glad to be here for now.'
Lastly, he talks about his versatility in playing both safety positions (4:01).
