Donaldson takes in Pitt game, talks visits & commitment level

Miami Central High School OL Navaughn Donaldson was in the recruiting section on Saturday with his mother and grandmother.

" It went great," Donaldson said. "I just came to see the game, and I talked with some of the recruits that were there. Deejay (Dallas), he's cool; Zach (Dykstra), we were just saying what's up, and the tight end commitment Brian (Polendey), we were just talking, were enjoying the game and talking."

Of the game itself, Donaldson said "It was a good game, Miami did things I thought were really positive."

His take on the offensive line's play?

"The line did really well," Donaldson said. "They were inconsistent some plays but overall did pretty well."

He says going into the game that "I expected Miami to put up some points."

He spoke with coaches while there- "I was mainly talking to coach (Stacy) Searels," Donaldson said. "He said to come in early, that I have a great chance to start and play early."

Donaldson could play right or left tackle at the next level.

He's starting up his official visits this coming weekend to Florida, and then he'll visit FSU the 26th of this month and North Carolina the following weekend.

"Miami will be my last official visit, the middle of December," Donaldson said.

So what are the chances he sticks with Miami?

"I think I'll stick with Miami, but I don't know for sure yet," Donaldson said.

CaneSport's take

It was good for the Canes that the O-line had a good showing with Donaldson and his family on hand. That obviously made a good impression. Obviously it's extremely important UM hold onto this talented lineman, so stay tuned as his visits go along.
