WHAT’S UP TODAY

The news of today is somewhat the news of yesterday, as the Canes held their 11th spring practice and we had your video from the day's work. Plus after practice we caught up with coach Mario Cristobal and several players - LB Corey Flagg, Jr., DL Jordan Miller, WR Key’Shawn Smith and OL Jalen Rivers.

And we had recruiting updates yesterday on some key visitors as well. OL/DL Nathan Efobi says he was blown away on the visit and thought about committing ... don't miss his thoughts. Plus we have your updates on high priority teammates who visited - RB Cedric Baxter and TE Camp Magee. And we also update the official visit of transfer DE DJ Coleman and where things stand with him.

So be sure to check all that out.

This morning?

We talk with Miami Central High School Class of 2025 LB EJ Marcelin, Jr. who lists three early scholarship offers: Miami, Florida State and Pittsburgh. He landed the UM offer last month, and the Canes of course will be targeting all the top target at the Miami pipeline school.

And we also interview Gino DiMare, whose team is riding a 10-game winning streak. What has happened for the team putting it together heading into a huge series against Virginia? Check that out, too, as well as an analysis heading into the UVA weekend.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

So How many current players hit the road? ... Posted by sabrose

I know Mario isnt fooling around and keeps looking for ways to upgrade the talent on this roster. Its pretty clear he is still going after some transfers and late signees especially on the Dline and possibly LB positions. We are just about at the 85 limit now which means its likely several guys will be asked to leave.

A couple of questions.1) Does the U admin have concern of the optics of asking guys to leave? 2) How many guys leave on their own knowing they won't likely be playing?3) Is the time to start this roster cleaning just after the spring game?

IMO I think up to 8 guys may not be here by fall. Welcome others take on this.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

We weren’t hitting as much last year, weren’t tackling as much during spring last year. It’s very different (this year).
