In what many saw as inevitable with the recent roster changes, Miami center Jakai Clark has entered his name in the transfer portal according to Manny Navarro of the Athletic.

Former starting center from UCF, Matthew Lee, was recently acquired via the transfer portal and will likely assume the starting role that was Clark's for the Hurricanes.

Clark appeared on the Rimington award watch list ahead of the 2022 season.

His departure leaves a hole on the offensive line depth chart but a couple of Hurricanes currently on the roster have seen action in games at the center position including Jonathan Denis, and Laurence Seymore. Clark is the second starting offensive linemen to depart from Miami along with John Campbell who recently landed in Tennessee.

Clark started in 40 games throughout his four-year career at Miami including his freshman season in which he started all 12 games. In his four seasons, he averaged a 58.4 grade according to Pro Football Focus.
